The State of Illinois has a contract to pay Mutual Ground monthly for services rendered for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The last time Mutual Ground received a check was in December 2009. The state has said they will pay eventually--but they don't know when.

The problem right now is cash flow. Mutual Ground has only enough cash flow to last until June 5th. Right now our shelter census is at 15, with 6 more coming. These people are victims who need our services right now--not when the state decides to pay.

You can make a difference. Send a donation to Mutual Ground, 418 Oak Ave., Aurora IL 60506, or to donate with credit card, click on the PayPal icon on our home page.
You can help:
Contact Governor Quinn and any or all of the state legislators. Let them know they must keep full funding for Domestic Violence and Sexual Programs. They must continue to keep all victims safe. The state must not let Mutual Ground or any shelter  have to close.   Write letters to the editor. Tell others about this dire situation. Make your voice heard.
